The film centers on Operation Holtsauga, a Nazi initiative aimed at disrupting Soviet maritime operations near Murmansk in 1942. The plot follows engineer Okulich, who survives a mine explosion that sinks his ship and is taken prisoner by the Germans. Years later, an explosion at Bezymyanny Island prompts Okulich to revisit the events of his past.
