So, #1 Serial Killer is a curious piece, really. It dives into the psyche of Chink, this Asian American guy grappling with some seriously deep-seated self-hatred shaped by racism. The film has this gritty, unsettling atmosphere that really captures his transformation inspired by Ted Bundy. Iβd say the pacing is pretty deliberate, allowing the viewer to really soak in his descent into madness. The practical effects, while not always high-budget, have an intensity that makes the violence feel raw and impactful. The performances are a mixed bag, but they resonate with the themes of identity and internal conflict. It's definitely a unique take on horror, and not your typical slasher flick, which makes it stand out in the genre.
