12 Paces without a Head

Set in the era of infamous sea pirates, the narrative follows Klaus Störtebeker, who, after a disastrous attempt at capturing a ship, grapples with self-doubt and a budding affection for a country girl named Bille. His co-captain, Gödeke Michels, faces his own struggles, particularly with a rejection from the friesian princess Okka.

As the crew encounters a unique weapon on their old ship, their fortunes appear to change. However, the arrival of the Hanse, with their superior power and weaponry, forces Störtebeker and Michels to confront a pivotal choice: embrace a life of farming or face death as pirates.
