247°F is an interesting blend of horror and thriller that really leans into the claustrophobic atmosphere. You’ve got four friends heading to a lakeside cabin for what they think is a chill weekend getaway. But, things take a nasty turn when three of them find themselves trapped in a sauna. The pacing is relentless, and as the temperature climbs to a boiling point, it really plays on the primal fears of survival. The practical effects, particularly in depicting the escalating heat, add a raw edge that heightens the tension. The performances are decent, capturing the desperation and panic well. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s distinctive in its single-location setup and how it exploits that confined space.
