The film follows Rei, a young woman affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, as she navigates her life ten years after the disaster. Graduating from university in Tokyo on a scholarship, she now works at a renovation company in Saitama Prefecture. Concerned for her childhood friend Nagi, who has become withdrawn in Ishinomaki, Rei decides to visit her hometown with her work junior, Yuta.

As Yuta develops a relationship with Nagi, Rei reflects on her own past and the memories of her mother, who is still missing.
