A City Sparrow

The narrative follows Milly West, portrayed by Ethel Clayton, a dancer aspiring for stardom. Despite the affection of country boy Tim Ennis, played by Walter Hiers, she initially rejects his marriage proposal. An injury during a performance leaves Milly unable to work, leading her to accept an offer from Hughie Ray, portrayed by William Boyd, to recuperate in the country.

As Milly spends time away from the city, she faces the reality of her injury, which she believes makes her incapable of having children. This belief complicates her relationship with Hughie, who desires a family. The film explores themes of ambition and the sacrifices made in pursuit of dreams, all set against the backdrop of early 20th-century America.
