A Husband's Chastity: If Spring Comes & Fall Once Again

The film follows Kayo and Kuniko, who graduate from girls' school and share a deep bond akin to sisterhood. As Kuniko's fiancé, Minakami, finds himself attracted to Kayo, the story unfolds into a triangular love affair. Kayo marries an ordinary man, but tragedy strikes when her husband dies in an accident, leading her to confront her feelings and choices regarding love and loyalty.

Originally intended as two separate films titled If Spring Comes and Fall Once Again, both running approximately 85 minutes, the current version runs for 103 minutes, merging the two stories into one cohesive narrative. This amalgamation provides a unique look into the emotional struggles of the characters, particularly Kayo, as she navigates her conflicting desires and moral responsibilities.
