A Summer in La Goulette

The film follows three seventeen-year-old girls in La Goulette: Gigi, Meriem, and Tina. Each girl comes from a different cultural background—Sicilian Catholic, Tunisian Arab, and French Jewish. Their desire to explore their first romantic experiences sets the stage for conflict among their families, particularly as their fathers' friendships are tested.

As the summer unfolds, the girls navigate the complexities of youth, love, and cultural expectations. The presence of Hadj, an affluent Arab who wishes to marry Meriem, adds another layer to the story, showcasing the intersection of personal desires and familial obligations.
