Across the Niger

The story follows Major Dubem, a prince and soldier stationed in northern Nigeria as tensions rise before a significant war. Despite his love for Habiba, Dubem faces familial and cultural obstacles, as his father, the king, refuses to accept her due to her pregnancy.
