Act Normal

Robert T. Edison was born in Nottingham, England, and began his Buddhist practice at age fourteen. He became a monk at eighteen and spent a decade in Thailand's monasteries. His journey took a significant turn when he moved to Iceland in 1994, becoming the first Buddhist monk there and founding a sect.

After five years, Robert chose to leave monastic life, getting married and adjusting to daily responsibilities. The documentary captures his struggle to adapt to life outside the monastery and the complexities of love and commitment. Filmed between 1994 and 2006, Act Normal provides a unique perspective on his twelve-year quest for normalcy and connection.
