The documentary follows Wu Wenguang's experiences in Shijiawan, where he spent the year growing rice, corn, and vegetables, while also raising chickens, ducks, and geese. Unlike traditional films, "Action 2024" was not pre-planned; it emerged organically from Wu's daily life, emphasizing the authenticity of his experiences over a scripted narrative.

The film is divided into five chapters, each representing a month from June to October. This structure allows viewers to witness the progression of Wu's farming activities and the rhythms of rural life throughout the year. With a runtime of 18 hours, it offers a deep and immersive look into the challenges and rewards of agricultural life.

"Action 2024" was screened online over five consecutive Fridays, starting January 31, 2025. Its unique approach to filmmaking and the focus on everyday life set it apart from more conventional documentary styles, making it a significant work in Wu Wenguang's filmography.
