Adieu, Mon Ami

The story centers on Dagmar, who has lost her twin brother and family in a bombing. Alongside a young girl from her parents' bakery, she escapes to Bavaria, where they find refuge with distant relatives. Here, Dagmar forms a bond with Laurent, a 17-year-old French alien employee, who faces his own challenges with the family’s patriarch, August.

As Dagmar and Laurent grow closer, they become each other's support in the face of adversity. Their relationship deepens, with Dagmar developing feelings for Laurent, but their happiness is threatened when August intervenes, leading to Laurent's departure back to France.
