Advent

The film follows Františka Plesníková, a young woman whose life is forever changed when her lover is killed by a falling tree before their marriage. Left as an illegitimate mother, Františka struggles to secure a better future for her son, Metúdek. In her quest for stability, she marries an elderly widower, Podešva, only to discover that her new marriage offers no real benefits for either her or her child.

Advent presents a poignant look at the challenges faced by women in difficult circumstances. The narrative is deeply rooted in the struggles of rural life in the Moravian Beskydy Mountains, showcasing the harsh realities of love and responsibility.
