So, 'Against All the Rules' is this quirky little comedy from 2017 that has a bit of a spy twist to it. The plot centers around Colonel Koloda, who gets roped into some espionage nonsense. He steals fake documents, which. I mean, that’s a clever little subversion of typical spy tropes. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it sort of adds to the comedy. You get these moments of absurdity mixed with tension which works surprisingly well. The performances have a laid-back charm—nothing over the top, just enough to keep you engaged. And the setting, especially the bank scenes, adds a nice touch of intrigue and humor that feels distinct in its execution. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s amusing in its own right.
