Alien Resurrection is an oddball entry in the franchise, directed by Jeunet, who brings his visual flair that sets it apart. It’s got this strange blend of dark humor and body horror, which is pretty unique. The pacing is a bit uneven, but that gives it a certain rhythm that matches the chaotic storyline. Sigourney Weaver's performance as the cloned Ripley is layered and unsettling, really adding depth to the character’s struggle with identity. The practical effects on the new aliens are striking, though some CGI touches haven’t aged well. It’s a film that feels like it’s exploring the themes of rebirth and monstrosity, but with a distinctly off-kilter Jeunet touch.
