American Roulette

The story follows Carlos Quintas, a democratically-elected president from a South American country who has been overthrown by a military coup. Now in London, he heads a government in exile, seeking international support while navigating a web of deception and danger. Carlos is a poet with a complicated relationship with his assistant Kate, who harbors her own secrets.

As Carlos rallies support, he finds himself surrounded by potential adversaries, including Russians that may be KGB agents, an American book publisher with possible CIA ties, and a mysterious British operative likely connected to the royal intelligence.
