The film follows Dee, a single mother of four who is wrongfully accused during a drug raid. Faced with the choice of accepting a plea bargain that would label her a felon for life, she courageously decides to fight back against the powerful district attorney, Calvin Beckett. As the narrative unfolds, Dee realizes that her plight is shared by many mothers in similar situations across the country.

With the ACLU attorney David Cohen and former narcotics officer Sam Conroy by her side, Dee embarks on a challenging journey to confront the systemic injustices of the Texas legal system.
