An Honest Man

The film centers around Benny Boggs, a good-natured hobo who, after being rejected by the U.S. Army, decides to help a farmer named Old Man Cushing. When Cushing falls ill, he entrusts Benny with a mysterious package meant for his daughter Ruby, who has left home to pursue an acting career. The package contains $50,000, and despite his own poverty, Benny is determined to earn Cushing's trust.

As Benny ventures into the city, he rescues Beatrice Burnett from an attacker, forming a friendship that leads him to Ruby. Upon delivering the money to her, Benny learns of Ruby's true identity as Cushing's long-lost daughter. The story culminates back at the farm, where Cushing recovers from his illness and Benny's journey ends with the army finally accepting him, alongside a promise from Ruby to marry him upon his return.
