Anatomy of Failure

The film delves into the life of Carlos Castaneda, a prominent author in the New Age movement who passed away in 1998. Following his death, five women associated with him vanished under mysterious circumstances, raising questions about their fate.

In 2004, bones belonging to one of these women are discovered near Death Valley, prompting filmmaker Minou Norouzi to embark on a series of road trips across California. As she investigates, she reflects on the allure that Castaneda held over these women and begins to question her own life in relation to theirs.

Norouzi encounters various individuals linked to Castaneda, each offering their perspective on his influence and legacy. However, the stories of the women remain largely in the shadows, creating a haunting backdrop for her inquiry.
