The film centers around Mr. Wagiman and his children, Inem and Tarjin, who come from a respected village family. Conflicts arise when Inem's arranged marriage falls apart, prompting her to seek a new life in Jakarta alongside her best friend, Susy.

Meanwhile, Tarjin and his friend, Bejah, are invited to Jakarta by Kang Cut, who is employed by a wealthy widow, Tetty Qadi Pinky.
