This documentary follows an international expedition led by French mountaineer Benoit Chamoux, who aimed to reach the summit of Annapurna, measuring 8,091 meters. The climb occurred on May 10, 1988, as part of the ambitious project named 'L'Esprit d'Equipe' (The Spirit of Team). The film highlights the rigorous preparations and teamwork necessary for such a formidable challenge, financed with a substantial contract from Bull International SAS.

Annapurna 88 also documents the outcomes of the expedition, where five out of six climbers successfully reached the summit of Annapurna.
