Another Green World

The film centers on Jiang Chao, a college graduate returning to his hometown of Quzhou with aspirations of becoming a teacher. He shares a home with his sister, Jiang Wei, a tour guide, and brother-in-law Zhang Qi, who works as a driving school instructor. Their lives intertwine with the picturesque backdrop of Lanke Mountain, where Chao meets Zhou Yuan during a shift at the driving school.

As Jiang Wei prepares for a tour-guide competition, tensions rise between her and Qi, exacerbated by the local legend surrounding Lanke Mountain. This legend seems to echo the changes in their relationships, providing depth to the personal journeys of the characters. The film captures the transformation of both the landscape and the individuals within it, highlighting the intersections of past and present in a small town.
