Another Mother

Another Mother follows a widowed Latvian father named Yuris and his mute eight-year-old son as they embark on a journey to find Yuris' Dutch pen pal, Marie. After not hearing from her for thirty years, he hopes to rekindle their connection, leading them to flee from a Riga hospital. Their adventure is filled with humor and challenges due to their limited understanding of Dutch.

As they travel towards Holland, father and son encounter several amusing situations that highlight their language barrier. Their experiences reflect the strong bond between them, despite the difficulties they face. Ultimately, they arrive at Marie's door, but the reality of their search is bittersweet, as they discover that the woman Yuris remembered has changed drastically over the years.
