Appassionate

The film follows Pina, a Portuguese woman living in Naples, who struggles with the challenges of her life while raising her two daughters, Rosa and Caterina. Rosa remains trapped in the past, wearing her wedding dress after being left at the altar. Caterina, on the other hand, faces dire consequences after murdering a man who wronged her, leading her to prison alongside Maddalena, a prostitute inspired to take similar violent action against her own offender.

Interspersed with this contemporary narrative is a black-and-white story set in 1929. It tells the tale of a man who shoots his wife in a movie theater and must evade the police.
