Arangetram

The film follows Lalitha, the eldest daughter of a pious Brahmin family, as she navigates the hardships of poverty and familial responsibility. With eight siblings to support, she takes on the burden of work but faces a tragic turn when circumstances push her into a life of prostitution. Despite her sacrifices to ensure the well-being of her family, she is ultimately abandoned by them when her secret is revealed.
