Armitage: Dual Matrix is an interesting follow-up to the original series. The animation style remains vibrant, capturing a gritty, yet colorful Mars. The pacing leans into action, but there's a surprising amount of emotional depth, especially with Naomi and Ross trying to maintain a semblance of normal life. The practical effects blend well with the animation, giving it a unique aesthetic that feels a bit raw compared to today’s polished CGI. Themes of identity and the consequences of technological advancement are explored, making it more than just a simple action flick. The voice performances add a nice layer, particularly with the dynamic between the lead characters and their daughter Yoko, which feels genuine amidst the chaos.
