Art Kabuki

Art Kabuki presents a unique filmed performance that captures the essence of kabuki, an art form dating back to the early 17th century. Directed by a team led by kabuki actor Kazutaro Nakamura, it features a collaboration of classical dancers, traditional musicians, and kabuki performers.

The film is structured around three themes: play, beauty, and life. This production emerged in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when live performances were halted. Its aim was to provide hope and comfort not only to the Japanese audience but to viewers globally, showcasing the resilience of the kabuki tradition through innovative staging and technology.
