The documentary follows filmmaker Pinchas Schatz as he investigates the fate of his grandfather, a Zionist leader in Estonia during the interwar period. Accompanied by his mother, Margalit, Schatz returns to Estonia, where K.G.B. archives and secret files from 1995 shed light on their family's past.

Through new testimonies and archival material, they uncover a largely unknown chapter in the history of the Zionist movement within the former Soviet Union. The film reveals the official verdict against his grandfather, who faced accusations of attempting to establish a Bourgeois-Jewish State in Palestine with capitalist support.
