At War for Love

Set in 1943 during the height of World War II, At War for Love tells the story of Arturo, a New Yorker in love with Flora, the daughter of a Sicilian restaurant owner. Flora is promised to marry the son of a Mafia boss, complicating the couple’s future. To marry her, Arturo must gain permission from her father, who lives in Sicily. Lacking funds for the trip, Arturo enlists in the U.S. Army, which is preparing for the Allied invasion of Sicily.
