Battlefield

Set in Northern Italy during World War I, Battlefield follows Dr. Stefano Zorzi, who operates in an Exemption Clinic. He treats soldiers returning from the front while also managing the challenges posed by those seeking to evade military service. The tension escalates as he competes with Dr. Giulio Farradio, who employs questionable methods to help soldiers avoid combat.

The film also explores the personal lives of the doctors, particularly their connection to Anna, a nurse who becomes central to their rivalry. The story takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918, intertwining themes of love, politics, and the ethics of medicine. With a strong cast featuring Alessandro Borghi and Gabriel Montesi, Battlefield provides a gritty and emotional look at the human experiences during one of history’s most devastating conflicts.
