Bellini: The Capulets & the Montagues

This opera, originally composed in 1830, is rooted in an early nineteenth-century tragedy by Luigi Scevola rather than Shakespeare's version. The new production, directed by Arnaud Bernard, features set designs by Alessandro Camera and costumes by Maria Carla Ricotti. It was co-produced with the Fondazione Arena di Verona and the Greek National Opera of Athens.

The cast includes notable performers such as Sonia Ganassi and Paola Gardina as Romeo, along with Jessica Pratt and Mihaela Marcu portraying Giulietta. Rubén Amoretti plays Capellio, while Luca Dall’Amico takes on the role of Lorenzo. The music is conducted by Omer Meir Wellber, ensuring a rich auditory experience that complements the dramatic narrative. This production captures the essence of Bellini's work and offers a unique interpretation for opera enthusiasts and collectors alike.
