The film follows Recardo "Flex" Reverte, a bodybuilder who returns to the gym after his father's death. With the guidance of Beef Cake, a massive and intense mentor, Flex embarks on a journey to achieve his ultimate physique. However, he soon realizes that the training methods employed by Beef Cake are brutal and abusive, pushing him to his limits.

As Flex grapples with these extreme influences, his relationship with his girlfriend, Mari, introduces a contrasting perspective.
