So, Bodysnatch (2017) is this interesting little sci-fi flick. It starts off with recent grads taking a joyride in a stolen cop car, but quickly morphs into something much darker. The atmosphere is tense, and there's this creeping sense of dread that builds as they stumble upon a secret that could spell doom for humanity. It's not overly flashy, but the practical effects have a raw charm to them that feels refreshing in today's CGI-heavy landscape. The pacing is a bit uneven, but somehow it adds to the tension. The performances are solid, capturing that blend of youthful recklessness and creeping horror. There's a distinct vibe here that feels both familiar and unique, making it stand out among indie sci-fi.
