Boy

The story follows a family that fled war-torn Bosnia three decades prior, now living on a farm in Croatia. As a storm brews outside, they discover a stranger hiding in their barn, sparking conflict within the family. The wife sees the stranger as a refugee in need of help, while her husband’s xenophobic views put him at odds with her compassion.

Their 10-year-old son finds himself caught in the middle, navigating the tension between his mother’s kindness and his father's cruelty. This film presents a raw examination of how fear and prejudice can impact familial relationships, especially in times of crisis. With powerful performances, particularly from Mario Knezović, Boy invites viewers to reflect on important societal issues.
