Breakers Ahead

The film follows young Ruth Bowman, who is taken in by Agatha Pixley after her mother passes away. As Ruth grows up, she falls in love with Agatha's son, Eric. However, their relationship faces obstacles when a jealous villager spreads rumors about Ruth's legitimacy, leading to her social ostracization.

As the plot unfolds, Eric embarks on a sea voyage with Captain Scudder, while Ruth believes he is in danger. The story escalates when Jim and Hiram Hawley set their boat on fire for insurance money.
