Broken Sabre is a curious blend of Western themes and television storytelling, edited from the show 'Branded.' It offers this gritty atmosphere where our protagonist, a West Point grad, grapples with the stigma of cowardice—a theme that feels both personal and reflective of the era. The pacing has its lulls, but the moral dilemmas and the striking visuals of the Old West really pull you in. Performances are solid, especially as the lead confronts both external conflicts and his own demons. There's a certain raw quality to the practical effects, too, that gives it a genuine feel. It’s interesting to see how TV show episodes translate into a feature film format, with some moments that feel oddly stretched yet still engaging in their own right.
