The film centers on Saliha, a mother striving to support her family in a shanty town as her husband Şevki faces unemployment and gambling debts. Their situation worsens when Saliha can no longer tolerate Şevki's indifference and decides to kick him out, highlighting the emotional turmoil of her struggles.

As Saliha attempts to provide for her family, she takes on cleaning jobs but soon realizes that her efforts are insufficient.
