In parallel, Kayla, a twelve-year-old girl, is placed in a group home where she befriends Morgane, a rebellious teen with plans to escape. Meanwhile, Manu, who turns 18, finds herself struggling with the transition to independence after leaving the foster care system. The paths of these four characters converge at a reception honoring a foster family they all have connections with, highlighting their shared experiences and challenges.
