Cheesehead Blues Re-Cut follows the adventures of filmmaker Jan Doense in the Mississippi Delta, a region known as the birthplace of delta blues music. The documentary captures his musical road trip through the Deep South, focusing on Clarksdale, home to legendary blues artists like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker.

The film centers on Theo Dasbach, a Dutchman who relocated his extensive collection of blues and rock & roll memorabilia to Clarksdale, establishing the Rock & Blues Museum. This museum has become a significant cultural landmark for music enthusiasts visiting the area. The documentary not only delves into the music but also showcases the blend of Dutch and American cultures through Dasbach's story and his passion for the blues.
