Child of the Danube

The film follows Marika, a cheerful girl living on a barge on the Danube. She works as a waitress and entertains guests at her aunt's inn with her singing and dancing. Her dream is to restore her inherited barge and travel down the river.

Marika's life takes a turn when she meets three young artists—Georg, Oskar, and Christoph—who become enchanted with her. Together, they organize an open-air revue to raise funds for her dream. The film interweaves themes of love and aspiration as Marika finds romance with Georg while pursuing her goals.
