Citizen Masrey

The story revolves around Mayor Abdul Razek al-Sharshabi, portrayed by Omar Sharif. When his younger son is called for army recruitment, tensions arise within the family as his wife suggests sending someone else in his place. The Mayor then persuades a less fortunate father, Abdul-Muqeem, to send his only son instead.
