Cizinec a krásná paní tells the story of Mrs. Růžena, a widow living alone in an apartment building in a neighborhood known as Little Asia. After her last tenant moves out, she meets Kurd Kemal, an older man seeking a sublet. Their initial reserve gives way to understanding as they bond over their dignity and love for their pets—a parrot and a black cat.
