Code of Honor feels like a throwback to those gritty 80s action flicks, you know? Colonel Robert Sikes, played with a stoic intensity, is relentless in his one-man crusade against crime, and the film doesn’t pull punches. The pacing is unyielding, moving from street-level skirmishes to larger confrontations with mobsters and corrupt politicians. Practical effects and some solid choreography keep the action grounded, which is refreshing. The dark atmosphere amplifies the sense of desperation and moral ambiguity. And then there's William Porter, Sikes' protégé, who adds a bit of a moral counterpoint. It’s not perfect, but there’s something about its raw energy that grabs you. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill action flick.
