Cold Creek Manor has this eerie, enveloping atmosphere that really pulls you in. The old mansion itself becomes almost a character, with its creaky floors and dusty corners hinting at a dark past. Mike Figgis does a solid job with the tension, gradually building it as the family uncovers unsettling secrets. There's a mix of practical effects that are pretty effective for the time, serving the mystery without over-relying on CGI. The performances feel grounded, especially from the leads, who manage to portray genuine fear and confusion as things spiral. It’s not the most groundbreaking film, but it captures that unsettling vibe of a home turned nightmare, which is always a treat for fans of the genre.
