Concentrics

Concentrics is a double film loop designed for a 16mm film projector. The work is silent and has an indefinite duration, marked by two identical loops, each lasting ten seconds. However, one loop is shorter by a single frame, leading to a shifting visual experience as they run together.

As the loops project, they create moiré patterns that evolve every ten seconds when the conjunction between the two loops changes by a frame. The entire presentation lasts forty minutes, cycling through 240 frames and 240 repetitions to explore all possible permutations. This film is an exploration of visual rhythm and pattern, appealing to those interested in avant-garde cinema and experimental art forms.
