Covenant (1985) is one of those TV movies that really leans into its atmosphere. Directed by Walter Grauman, it weaves a tale of a powerful family making a pact with Satan, which gives this film a unique blend of horror and drama. The pacing is deliberate, but it builds tension effectively, allowing the sinister undertones to seep into the viewer's mind. Themes of moral corruption and the battle against evil are prevalent, embodied by the underground group called The Judges. The practical effects, though limited by the budget, have a certain charm. Performances are solid, particularly from the leads, who manage to bring some gravitas to the outlandish premise. It's definitely a cult oddity worth exploring.
