The film centers on Kuzey, who runs the Karayel Hotel with his friend Sami. The narrative follows his tumultuous relationship with Şafak, a woman who comes to stay at the hotel while researching Greek villages. Their love story is complicated, with Şafak leaving Kuzey multiple times but always returning until her mysterious disappearance.

As time passes, Kuzey struggles with the unresolved feelings he has for Şafak. In 2003, a new character, Çiğdem, enters the scene as she works to save the hotel from bankruptcy and develops feelings for Kuzey. This rekindles his memories of Şafak, especially when he learns about the discovery of her car underwater. The film intricately weaves together themes of longing and the passage of time, making it a poignant exploration of love and memory.
