The film follows Hanifah and Latifah, also known as Ipah, who embody different perspectives on life. Hanifah is satisfied with her role as a teacher, while Ipah, seeking a more glamorous lifestyle, changes her name to Eva and pursues a career as a runway model. This decision leads her into a turbulent world filled with relationships, including an affair with an older man and a drastic turn towards high-class prostitution.

As Eva's life spirals out of control, her actions culminate in a violent confrontation with her ex-boyfriend, Adi. This pivotal moment results in her imprisonment, where her family’s support is poignantly symbolized by the gift of a mukena, a traditional hijab. The storyline not only highlights the personal struggles of the sisters but also reflects broader societal issues relevant to the era.
