Dangerous Liaisons

The film follows the Marquise de Merteuil, who enlists her former lover, the Vicomte de Valmont, to seduce the virtuous Cécile de Volanges as part of a cruel game. Valmont's target is the fiancee of another of Merteuil’s ex-lovers, but complications arise when genuine feelings develop, disrupting their calculated plot.

Based on the 18th-century novel Les Liaisons dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, the screenplay captures the intricate social games and moral ambiguity of the French nobility.
