So, Dead or Alive: Final is a wild ride, you know? It’s got this gritty, post-apocalyptic Yokohama vibe that really sets the tone. Takashi Miike's direction brings a chaotic energy to the action, but there's also this oddball humor threaded throughout that keeps it interesting. The pacing is all over the place, sometimes speeding through moments and then lingering on others, creating this intense atmosphere. The performances really stand out too, especially with the cop and the drifter's dynamic. Those practical effects hit hard, making the violence feel raw and visceral. It's definitely not your run-of-the-mill cop drama, that's for sure - it’s all about rebellion and the lengths a parent will go for their kid. Really something else.
